PSN Cards ...?

I read a while back that SONY would have PSN cards available.I dont know if it's me but I cant find them anywhere, are they on sale yet? and if they are where can I get one?I really dont like using my credit card on-line so I thought these were a great idea. With all the new features coming up for the PS3 I think it would be cool to sort of try out the new features without actually having to put them on a credit card.EAST 10 POINTS.....

  1. It is not out yet but Sony confirmed that they will be releasing the cards very very soon.
  2. I believe that that service is only available in Japan. I can see what you are saying about the credit card number. I just go to Gamestop.
  3. No, the are not on sale here yet, but they should be soon.
  4. actually they are on sale in the states.

ilive in canada so i havent found them here.

the only store i ever saw them in was a Meijers in Chicago.

i heard on playstation forums and other sites that almost all the Meijers have them
  5. You don't even need a psn card. Just go into a bank or one of many grocery stores and buy a visa or mastercard gift card. They are just prepaid debit cards with a limit of however much cash you spend on them, $20, $50 or whatever. You can use them anywhere you can use a debit card, including the playstation store.

Maybe one of the reasons Sony hasn't focused much on getting those psn cards released is the availability of those "open" gift cards makes them a moot issue.
  6. Sony was supposed to be releasing them in North America in "Spring 2008".

That was delayed and Sony didn't make any firther stements.

However on June 23rd they started appearing in some retailers in America. You should check again in some of the bigger game shops in your area, otherwise just wait a bit.

If you are in Europe there is still no wrod but in the 2.20 update the option of using "Promotion Codes" for purchases was added to the PS Store.
