Can the PS3 find shared network video files off my desktop computer on the same network and play the video off of that? or do i have to copy them to an external hard drive and connect that in order to play the videos I download?
playstation network and xbox live. Can u play together? Are there any video games for both the ps3 and the xbox360 so that xbox live users are able to play with playstation network users. Sort of people who have ps3's and people who have 360's and they can play each other from different consoles. If not, are there going to be any games like that

Playing music and videos on a playstation 3 via network.? Ok, so i have a computer with an external hard drive where all my music and videos are located. I want to set it up so i can play these files through my ps3. I have set it up so i can play them but i have to copy the files into the "my shared" folder, which copies the files onto my c drive....so there is no point of having an external hard drive. Is there a way that i can just put them into the Windows media player library and play them straight from there or is there any possible way i can do this without moving the files from my external hard drive?? any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Xbox 360/Playstation Movie/Video Menu Question? Can I add cover art to those movies that Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 play via hard drive or any network. Can I add additional info such as description or any other tags as well? If so, how?
Streaming video/music through a Playstation 3? is there a way you can stream audio or video from another PC in the house via the wireless network to play on a PS3? I do this between various PCs in my house, and since the PS3 is on the wireless network I thought it may be possible with it too, although since it's not using a Windows operating system I don't know how to do it.
So what would you video gamers think if this is what Sony promiced? Sony: "The PlayStation®2 70000 series is network ready and allows for easy access to online games and is even ready to compete against it's predecessor, PS3." "Yet our PS2 is still selling strong and still has one of the latest titles to choose from." So if your a PS2 fan, and who isn't? Then we will continue to push the console's lifespan though the limit just for those who cannot afford our next generation PS3 system. That means every game title for the PS2 system will be launched, advertized, even on a commercial while Microsoft's old Xbox & Nintendo's old GameCube have been sent to the video gaming shops in the sky and now lack any new releases. We will even release newer only on PS2 titles.
Playstation 3 help? I get online with my PS3 via wireless internet connection and I can surf the web without a problem but I can't access the Playstation Store to download demos or videos. Do I have to have a wired connection to access the Playstation Network/Playstation Store?

Possible to play PAL Playstation One games from UK store on USA NTSC PS3? I live in the USA and have a 60GB PS3. I really like the way the Playstation 3 is more open than the previous machines. The Playstation Network stores allow you to browse and buy games from different regions, and I've had the following experience: - PS3 games from any region work fine on my machine. - Only NTSC games from the "classics" series (Playstation One) games run on my NTSC, 60GB USA PS3. That means games from the USA, Hong Kong, and Japan stores. - I can purchase PAL Playstation One games from the UK and Australian PSN stores, and I can put them on my PSP without much trouble, but they don't run on the PS3 because of incompatible video settings. Does anyone know of any way to trick the NTSC PS3 into running these PAL titles? It seems that with all the video hardware on this thing, conversion should not be a problem -- especially when someone is willing to pay for the old games. I want to play Motorhead, G-Police, and some others without having to hit Ebay for old discs.
What are your views on Video Games? What are your views on them? I think the media portrays video gaming negativley, as a silly little hobby, although this is changing overtime. Things like the Playstation 3 even appear in the background of shows like Heroes... Also there is profesional gaming. People can earn upto $2million a year from gaming competitivly, although this is really on PC Gaming not console. Just like the internet, people thought of gaming as a geeky little thing, but not anymore. Gaming in Asia is HUGE. They have TV networks dedicated 24/7 to gaming coverage. Nothing in the west compares. What do you think?
Can playstation 3 connect to my PC? I want to be able to view my pictures and video's and listen to my music from my PC through my Playstation 3. The Xbox 360 can do this through networking either as a media centre extender or through the dashboard.
Xbox 360/Playstation Movie/Video Menu Question? Can I add cover art to those movies that Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 play via hard drive or any network. Can I add additional info such as description or any other tags as well? If so, how?
Which is a better online video game connection? Satellite Internet or Mobile Broadband? I'm at a rural location where my only solution is dialup. I'm looking to get satellite or a mobile broadband card next week and get a router to route my mobile broadband connection around my house (saw some products online). I'm wondering, in the long run, which one would be better to use for the Playstation Network? If I get a mobile broadband card, I'll end up getting an AT&T card since I get full service out here with it. What kind of connection would be recommended for that and overall which is the better buy? Thanks!
Question for someone who knows alot about the Playstation 2 and the games.? I have never owed a PS2 console. The last game system I bought I think was the Super Nintendo so I'm way out of date (lol). I've never really been into video games much ,but I've just recently decided I need to stop watching TV so darn much and try a new hobbie. I've really been wanting a WIi ever sense it came out ,but I just can't bring myself to paying that much for a game system when I've never even had the desire for video games cause it may just sit and collect dust. I decided why not get a PS2 instead sense it seems to have tons of games for all skill levels ,so I found a good deal on ebay for one that came with 10 games ,but none of them seem like games that I'm gonna like or be able to play ,so my question is ,can somebody recommend some good games for some one who is practically new to the modern age of gaming? I'm clueless really. The PS2 I bought comes with an online network card ,so I can play games online too I think ,but are online games free? Please help

Is This A Game For U Or Your Children? "Dexter" brings killing spree to videogame SAN DIEGO (Hollywood Reporter) - Showtime is turning its serial-killer drama "Dexter" into a videogame. The premium cable network has signed a production deal with the gaming division of the Marc Ecko hip-hop fashion house to design a game for multiple platforms, including the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360. It will be aimed at avid gamers, many of whom have become fans of the Emmy-winning series. Michael C. Hall stars as an emotionally detached forensics analyst who dispatches deserving villains in his spare time. Reruns are now airing on CBS. Marc Ecko Entertainment is in talks with a number of developers about the "Dexter" game, but stressed that it will work closely with Showtime to ensure it is faithful to the series. Ecko has been moving aggressively into video games, producing the 2005 title "Getting Up" and working on an untitled project with developer Human Head. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

Can someone help with a? I'll try to tell you every possible bit of info. with my router problem. It's a Netgear MR 314 wireless router (an older one, but new from the online store). It's a b router, and the computer wireless card is b and g compatible. Currently I'm using that computer and an old Gateway Solo with the wireless feature, and also have a Playstation 3 hooked up in one of the Ethernot slots. The router will work, on both computers...and on the Gateway, will work for many hours....before getting dropped off. The Inspiron, which is the newer computer and also the main one I need it to work on, many times drops off after just a matter of minutes. Seems that running streaming video especially drops it off faster. And just a few minutes ago, on the Gateway I got a message that there is a conflict between this computer and "another system on the network." Any idea what I can do to get these computers to stay online for at least a few hours before crashing? Sorry, I meant with a router question

Does Grand Theft Auto 4 have good online play? I'm going to buy a video game for my PS3 this weekend and I was thinking about buying GTA 4. I know some people say that its nothing special and that San Andreas is better but I want to get GTA 4 because I'm interested in the online play. From what I've heard and seen, the online play looks fun but the problem is, I don't know if there will be many people online. Cuz I've bought other games just for the online but there was barely anyone on the playstation network with that game so I couldnt play. So i just wanna know from a person that does play GTA 4 on the playstation network, Is there a lot of people online?
What is your opinion on this article, --cruelty of animals--, please respond to it.? ok its kinda long, and its sad. if u don't want to read all of it just read HELL ON WHEELS and KILLING THEM W/OUT KINDNESS Porking You Up It’s a fact—ham, sausage, and bacon strips will go right to your hips. Eating pork products, which are loaded with artery-clogging cholesterol and saturated fat, is a good way to increase your waistline and increase your chances of developing deadly diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, asthma, and impotence. Research has shown that vegetarians are 50 percent less likely to develop heart disease, and they have 40 percent of the cancer rate of meat-eaters. Plus, meat-eaters are nine times more likely to be obese than pure vegetarians are. Every time you eat animal products, you’re also ingesting bacteria, antibiotics, dioxins, hormones, and a host of other toxins that can accumulate in your body and remain there for years. Learn more about animal products and your health. Pigs Have Feelings Too Ninety-seven percent of pigs in the United States today are raised in factory farms, where they will never run across sprawling pastures, bask in the sun, breathe fresh air, or do anything else that comes naturally to them. Crowded into warehouses with nothing to do and nowhere to go, they are kept on a steady diet of drugs to keep them alive and make them grow faster, but the drugs cause many of the animals to become crippled under their own bulk. Learn more about cruelty to pigs. Check out these videos from pig farms in Oklahoma, North Carolina, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Pigs and Playstations Think that you can outplay a pig on your Playstation? You may be surprised. According to research, pigs are much smarter than dogs, and they even do better at video games than some primates. In fact, pigs are extremely clever animals who form complex social networks and have excellent memories. Eating a pig is like eating your dog! As actor Cameron Diaz put it after hearing that pigs have the mental capacities of a 3-year-old human: "[Eating bacon is] like eating my niece!" Learn more about pigs. Pigs Prefer Mud, Not Crud Pigs are actually very clean animals. If they are given sufficient space, pigs are careful not to soil the areas where they sleep or eat. And forget the silly saying “sweating like a pig”—pigs can’t even sweat! That’s why they bathe in water or mud to cool off. But in factory farms, they’re forced to live in their own feces and vomit and even amid the corpses of other pigs. Conditions are so filthy that at any given time, more than one-quarter of pigs suffer from mange—think of your worst case of poison ivy, and imagine having to suffer from it for the rest of your life. Learn more about what happens to pigs in factory farms. Check out the mange-ridden pigs on these South Dakota and Nebraska pig farms. Farming Family Values Factory farms are pure hell for pigs and their babies. Mother pigs spend most of their lives in tiny “gestation” crates, which are so small that the animals are unable to turn around or even lie down comfortably. They are repeatedly impregnated until they are slaughtered. Piglets, who are taken away from their distraught mothers after just a few weeks, have their tails chopped off, their teeth are clipped off with pliers, and the males are castrated—all without painkillers. Learn more about cruelty to pigs. The Manure Is Blowing in the Wind … A pig farm with 5,000 animals produces as much fecal waste as a city of 50,000 people. In 1995, 25 million gallons of putrid hog urine and feces spilled into a North Carolina river, immediately killing between 10 and 14 million fish. To get around water pollution limits, factory farms will frequently take the tons of urine and feces that are stored in cesspools and turn them into liquid waste that they spray into the air. This manure-filled mist is carried away by the wind and inhaled by the people who live nearby. Learn more about how factory farming damages the environment. Bacteria-Laden Bacon and Harmful Ham Extremely crowded conditions, poor ventilation, and filth in factory farms cause such rampant disease in pigs that 70 percent of them have pneumonia by the time they’re sent to the slaughterhouse. In order to keep pigs alive in conditions that would otherwise kill them and to promote unnaturally fast growth, the industry keeps pigs on a steady diet of the antibiotics that we depend on to treat human illnesses. This overuse of antibiotics has led to the development of “superbacteria,” or antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains. The ham, bacon, and sausage that you’re eating may make the drugs that your doctor prescribes the next time you get sick completely ineffective. Learn more about the effect of eating meat from sick, diseased, and drugged animals. Hell on Wheels More than 170,000 pigs die in transport each year, and more than 420,000 are crippled by the time they arrive at the slaughterhouse. Transport trucks, which carry pigs hundreds of miles through all weather extremes with no food or water, regularly flip over, throwing injured and dying animals onto the road. These terrified and injured animals are rarely offered veterinary care, and most languish in pain for hours; some even bleed to death on the side of the road. After an accident in April 2005, Smithfield spokesperson Jerry Hostetter told one reporter, “I hate to admit it, but it happens all the time.” Learn more about cruelty to pigs during transport. Killing Them Without Kindness A typical slaughterhouse kills up to 1,100 pigs every hour, which makes it impossible for them to be given humane, painless deaths. The U.S. Department of Agriculture documented 14 humane slaughter violations at one processing plant, where inspectors found hogs who “were walking and squealing after being stunned [with a stun gun] as many as four times.” Because of improper stunning methods and extremely fast line speeds, many pigs are still alive when they are dumped into scalding-hot hair-removal tanks—they literally drown in scalding-hot water. Learn more about what happens to pigs at slaughter. Ditch the Bacon and Get Fakin’ Save pigs from hell and yourself from bad health by feasting on faux pork products instead. Stuff a sandwich full of Yves brand veggie ham slices, or throw some Lightlife Smart Bacon into a sizzling skillet—the freezer and “health food” sections of your local grocery or health food stores are packed full of these and other tasty substitutes. go to http://www.goveg.com/factoryFarming.asp to see more

YOUR OPINION... What is better? The Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360? There is ALOT of comments about which "next-gen" console is better. There is a big war of fans out there, and I want your opinion on what is THE BEST. Think about graphics, gameplay, online, extra media capabilities (music, videos, etc.) and other things that consumers would want to know about when you write your opinion. Since I am the president of an electronic, movie and gaming network, all opinions will be put into a poll (unless specified not to) and will be shared worldwide.

To the UNDER 30 Crowd....(Mature language...may not be sutiable for those without a sense of humor)? THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!! When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears With their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning...Uphill...BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, There was no way in hell I was going to lay A bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it And how easy they've got it! But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of Thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!! Dewey Decimal my butt! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter, with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister! We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games Like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You Actually had to use your Imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen FOREVER! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE! Sure, we had cable television, but back then but there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the Channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons On Saturday Morning. Do you Hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards! And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that! If we wanted Popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing And shake it over the stove forever like an idiot. That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted Five minutes back in 1980! Regards, The over 30 Crowd Again...Teh Tarik...this may not be suitable for those without a sense of humor. Again...may not be suitable for those without a sense of humor! LOL...I'm now getting HATE mail from Samian regarding this. PEOPLE...it's a JOKE. It just says that yes, you have it easier but....we didn't have it so bad either. SHEESH! Now...get your ass up and find me the remote!

Help with new PSP slim ? I just bought a new PSP slim and I am not sure what to do with it. I heard from some of my friends that it needs to be modified. The version is 3.80. All I could do were to put music, pictures and videos into the psp. I have no idea how to put the downloaded games in it other than the umd games which are very expensive. I did try the internet connection but it promts me to sign in to this playstation network. When I did attempt to sign up for the account I was asked to pay for it. I am quite clueless when it comes to the games part of the PSP. I would also like to know what are the recommended gadgets to have for this psp. Thank You.
Can a flatscreen computer moniter also be used as a tv? I recently purchaced a small home desktop computer. It does not come with a screen and i was looking into getting a flat panel lcd moniter for it. (instead of using an old fat moniter) I was wondering if upon buying an lcd screen if i could also use it to replace my tv. (just for video games not dish network or anything) I was hoping i could hook up my computer to it and also hook up a playstation to it and have a nice tv for games. If this would infact work, how would you hook it up and will hooking a game system up stretch the screen because of the resolution or something? Answers and or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
